Foxy i struggled a little more than in recent times, Duncan's personal best of 3 hours 38 mins was in Prague & given my recent successes against him i fancied a sub 3hours 30 but was a very hot day & a more undulating course than I was expecting. 3 hours 30 quickly went out of the window, so my next goal was Duncan's time on the same course a year previous but that wasn't to be, i had to walk a minute a mile at about 20 miles, i had gone off too slowly & then used far too much energy trying to get back on target, although was another country i can claim to have run a sub 4 hour marathon in.

the T-shirt is a lovely adidas one similar to Rotterdam the year before (ironically i ran in my Rotterdam shirt & was hardly noticed as it was almost identical to the Prague half shirt that many wore !) this one had black sleeves & a blue body.

the medal was a unique shape & quite nice & we got a beer when we finished - heaven :)

this was the first of a 6 marathons in 6 months challenge to raise funds for the Bobby Moore cancer research fund.

a lovely city & the weather was excellent. 100 Marathon Club, MK Lakeside Runners, Milton Keynes Lakeside Runners 3:09:27 3:24:10 3:29:59 3:48:06 53.59
Jonny Wasn't quite able to beat my pb but happy enough with my time and enjoyed the race. Most pleasing was that I paced myself better than in any other marathon. Reached half way in 1.44 so ony slowed up 2 mins in the second half. Legs started to tire at about 23-24 miles. First time I have carbo loaded properly. Will be concentrating more on marathon's from now on. The weather was quite hot with clear blue skies, not as hot as last year but warmer than 2006. Unaffiliated 3:27:32 3:30:05 3:30:05 57.93
